Notes on the Genitive

This is in response to a comment Jim posted on this blog asking about the endings for masculine nouns in Genitive. Although there are no rules telling us how to determine the right ending, I tried to put together a list and hopefully it makes things a bit clearer.

  1. Well, it does for me, Sam - thank you! I think we should get to the bottom of the whole 'borowika' thing though (see Sam's document in 'a list' above) - anybody know the English name for this beautiful mushroom

  2. Yaaay! Indeed it is. Maybe I should write another list, this time with mushrooms. Wouldn't that be sweet?

  4. Hi,
I was looking at your blog and you I thought you might want to embed some Polish phrases/notes (with audio) in it for your readers.
I have made a FREE player (MLN Player) to do this and here you can see how your Polish lessons could look in your blog:
    http://www.mylanguagenotebook.com/view_project_2.aspx?projectID=83&lang=Polish&sitetype=polish-bilus&content=phrases/lessons
MLN Player links the text and audio together (just double-click on a sentence to hear it) and it has built-in ways of testing yourself (hide/show translations etc).
MLN Player is totally FREE and very easy to make lessons with. You can embed any of the lessons already on the MLN site, or make your own.

I use it in my own blog here:
    http://mlnlanguages.blogspot.com/

Anyway, if you want any more info, please let me know.

Best of luck with your site.

    All the best,
    Jim Morrison

  5. Hi Jim,

This is REALLY nice - I hope one day we can find a little time to play with it, as I think it shows great potential.

    Pozdrowienie!
